I would like to have my winter tires removed and summer tires put on.
I would probably also need to buy 2 summer tires (17").

What's your favorite summer tire and could you recommend a place where I could finish it during this week? Info on pricing and if staff speaks English is also welcome.

Thanks :)

tyres (for summer): continental premium contact, better than sport contact!

I'll assume that SC stands for Sport Contact.

They don't seem to have Premium Contact them.

Is it here a practice that mounting the tyres is free of charge if f you buy them from a shop that has a workshop as well?

I'm thinking of ordering these...got drawn by those classification numbers as well as the tyre noise... nerd :smart:

The link you posted is dead.

I don't have personal experience with Sport Maxx RT, but I wouldn't buy it because it's just been replaced by a new version - its name ends with a "2" ;)

I'd also look for Michelin Pilot Sport 4 and Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3, both also released this year and just get whichever I find cheapest online (that would probably be Goodyear). It's expensive stuff so it really pays to shop around for a few days if you want or need to get the best price.

Speaking of v2 vs. the original one, they seem to be rather similar (although, not sure if the original one ine RunOnflat).

Anyway, Ralsi doesn't have Michelin PS4, but Goodyear seems to be cheaper.

Yep, that is definitely a very good price

Just be aware that 225 isn't the standard width for 17s on the GT. It will fit fine though.

What is the standard width?
http://sizetires.com/tires/alfa_romeo/gt/2010#2" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The previous owner had a mixture of 2 summer (Cont SC5) and 2 winter (Dunlop 3D something), both 225/45/R17, so I'm continuin with the same size. Will actually leave those two Cont Sport Contact as they look ok (will check the age though, forgot to do that today) and have the GY you told me about fitted onto the front wheels. :clapping:

215/45 should be the ones you need for 17 inch wheels.

225/40 go with 18 inch wheels.

It is recommended to go with the dimensions given by the owner`s handbook, due to the manufacturer`s know-how and also from a legal point of view (you can be fined for using incorrect tyre sizes)

Depends on the rims. If you have 7x17 rims then you should go for 215/45 R17 tires, but if you have 7.5x17 rims, the right tires are 225/45 R17.

It seems you're right.

I have these shown in this thread and I was going for 225 just because they already were on the car when I bought it but it seems it will be 215 after all :)

Trouble with 215s is they're a much less common size so more expensive. If you must be absolutely by the book then yes, Alfa only specifies 215 for 17s. But 225s are fine even for 7J wheels.

Ralsi doesn't have Asymmetric 3 215, so I guess I'll go with 225 as it was before. I'm not a person that does everything by the book, but I like asking and learning :)

Ralsi does not mount tyres for free when bought at their place. They charge additional 30-35 lei per wheel.

Well that's not very nice! :bash: There are other tyre shops in Timi, but they don't sell Asymmetric.

From my point of view Ralsi is a little bit overrated! I wanted to buy some tires from them but the offer was really poor.
I also had 2 rims which needed to be reconditioned and they couldn´t fix it.
And now I hear they charge you to mount the tires you buy from them...

I've finally managed to order the tires last week and have them fit today.
The fitting and balancing for 2/4 wheels was 82 lei total.

I saw, but then again, I had to buy those last time at a gas station in Serbia for about the same price, so it comes down to the same :)
