La NAIAS 2012 s-a declarat ca productia lui Kubang (numele conceptului inca nu este sigur ca va fi pastrat) va incepe in 2013 la fabrica Jefferson North. SUV-ul construit pe baza lui Jeep Grand Cherokee va fi astfel primul Maserati din istorie construit in afara Italiei, urmand a fi lansat pe piata nord america in a doua jumatate a anului urmator, iar mai apoi pe pietele europene si asiatice. De asemenea, s-a mentionat ca numele "Cinqueporte" recent inregistrat nu va fi folosit pentru acest model.

A patra si ultima aratare in public a conceptului Kamal 2012.
Data viitoare cand vom mai vedea un SUV Maserati, va fi in forma si cu denumirea finala, la NAIAS 2013.

Ah, si a fost premiat de catre chinezi ca fiind cel mai frumos concept suv de la salon. Cu Bentley si Lambo ca si concurenti, nici nu a fost o alegere prea grea. :twisted:

Azi, in cadrul conferintei de presa sustinuta in deschiderea Salonului Auto de la Paris s-a anuntat oficial ca numele viitorului SUV de la Maserati va fi LEVANTE, ca in via Emilia Levante, Bologna, adresa unde acum aproape un secol fratii Maserati incepusera sa viseze la masinile care si astazi le poarta numele.
Se estimeaza ca Levante va fi comercializat incepand cu 2014, an in care Maserati isi va celebra centenarul.

Desi n-as putea spune ca ma bucura folosirea unei platforme Jeep pentru un astfel de utilaj, as putea spune ca ar fi o prostie sa nu faca asta. Ai o platforma in curte, de conceptie noua si te apuci sa faci alta? Asa a facut Nissan inainte de fuziunea cu Renault: aveau o caruta de platforme, ceva gen 28 sau mai multe si pe nici una nu se faceau 2 modele. Erau in pragul falimentului, apoi a urmat fuziunea si au mai taiat din ele. Acum o duc ceva mai bine. Au venit francezii cu optimizarea...

Si ce sunt noile Ghibli/Quattroporte daca nu reinterpretari ale platformei Chrysler LX ?! In industria auto actuala este aproape un snobism injustificabil sa pretinzi o platforma exclusiva pentru un model de serie. Important este ca baza sa fie buna, apoi poti adapta si customiza in functie de cerintele specifice diverselor piete sau modele, progresand si evoluand pe parcurs. Exemplul cel mai elocvent este Giulietta > Dart > Cherokee. Se poate ca cei de la WCF sa aibe totusi dreptate, cu atat mai mult cu cat noile berline Maserati sunt deja disponibile cu tractiune integrala !

Una calda una rece. Aceasta economie este o solutie pe termen scurt si foarte scurt. Pe termen lung, lipsa de investitii in modele noi este cea mai proasta afacere. Concurenta nu doarme, progreseaza. Grupul Fiat se va trezi curand cu o panoplie de modele invechite grav. Sa-l vad atunci pe macaronar pe unde mai scoate camasa.
De fapt cred ca stiu pe unde o va scoate: prin curtea Chrysler. Petarde americane rebadge-uite, vezi Lancia in acest sens. Sau in cel mai fericit caz, platforme prajite americane recarosate si vandute de bune.

OK. Am facut cam mult offtopic. Sper sa nu degenereze. :oops:

Poza din curtea fabricii Grugliasco. N-a scapat nici una dintre concurente. Sper insa ca intr-un fel sau altul suv-ul Maserati sa fie total diferit de cele prezente aici pentru benchmarking.
